Chemical Peel
Controlled skin renewal for clearer, smoother, and more even skin.
What Is a Chemical Peel?
A Reset for Your Skin
A chemical peel is a controlled exfoliation treatment that uses specialized solutions to remove damaged outer layers of skin and stimulate new cell turnover. As your skin sheds and renews, it becomes smoother, clearer, and more even in tone.
At Pendeza Aesthetics, your peel is selected and customized based on your skin condition, sensitivity, and goals. The strength, depth, and formulation are adjusted to ensure your skin is treated safely and effectively. This is not a one-size-fits-all treatment. It is a corrective approach designed to create visible, progressive change.
"If your skin looks dull despite good products, the issue is often not what you are using. It is how your skin is functioning. This is designed to reset that."

The Perfect Derma Peel™ — Patient Post-Peel Instructions
The day of your peel application is “Day 1.” The treated area will feel tight and may appear slightly darker. The peel solution must remain on the treated areas for at least 6 hours. During those 6 hours, do not wash, touch, rub, or apply anything (including SPF or makeup) to the treated areas.
Day 1–2
The treated area may feel tight and appear darker, and any underlying pigmentation spots may temporarily darken.
The Post Peel Moisturizer with 1% hydrocortisone (included in your home care kit) may be used after the first 6 hours only if:
- The skin feels excessively irritated or uncomfortable, or
- You are Fitzpatrick Skin Type 4–6 with melasma or hyperpigmentation.
The peel self-neutralizes after 6 hours. At that point, you may cleanse with The Perfect Cleanser or any gentle cleanser. You may also leave the peel on overnight if you prefer.
Day 2 (AM)
- Gently wash and dry the treated areas.
- Vigorously apply the 1st Post Peel Towelette while it’s still in its square, folded shape.
- Continue applying the towelette, unfolding it as it dries out, until all the solution is used.
- Let the skin dry for 30 minutes before applying Mineral Perfection SPF 30.
Makeup is allowed but not recommended for the full 7 days — foundation and powder can cause irritation in some patients. Mascara, brow products, and lipstick are fine.
Day 2 (PM)
- 30–60 minutes before bed, gently wash and dry the treated areas.
- Vigorously apply the 2nd Post Peel Towelette while it’s still in its square, folded shape.
- Continue applying, unfolding it as it dries out, until all the solution is used.
- Leave the towelette solution on overnight.
If you experience irritation, apply a small amount of The Post Peel Moisturizer 2–3 times daily. If that irritates your skin, substitute a 1% over-the-counter hydrocortisone cream. You may also add a gentle, non-comedogenic moisturizer (we recommend CeraVe or Cetaphil) and apply a cold compress as needed.
If you have no significant irritation, do not apply any moisturizer to the treated areas until peeling begins (usually Day 3).
Important: avoid excessive sweating, swimming, saunas, heavy exercise, and sun exposure during the peeling process. These can cause irritation and extend your downtime.
Days 3–6
Peeling generally begins on Day 3.
- Cleanse gently morning and evening for the full 7-day peel process.
- Once peeling begins, apply a thin layer of The Post Peel Moisturizer 2–3 times daily to control dryness and relieve tightness.
How long to use The Post Peel Moisturizer:
- 1 week for Caucasian patients
- 2 weeks for Asian, Black, Hispanic, and patients with darker skin tones
Additional reminders:
- Do not rub, pick, or pull at peeling skin — this can cause scarring.
- Do not use scrubs, masks, or strong actives like retinoids.
- Reapply Mineral Perfection SPF 30 every 2 hours during sun exposure.
Day 7 and Beyond
The peeling process is generally complete by Day 7. Continue protecting the skin with Mineral Perfection SPF 30. You may resume your regular skincare products once your skin is fully healed. If you still have residual irritation or mild peeling, wait until your skin is 100% healed before reintroducing them.

common questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Are all chemical peels the same?
No. Chemical peels vary in strength, depth, and formulation. Some are designed for light exfoliation and maintenance with little to no downtime. Others are more corrective and target deeper concerns such as pigmentation, acne scarring, or significant texture changes. Your provider selects the appropriate peel based on a thorough assessment of your skin.
Does a chemical peel hurt?
You may feel warmth, tingling, or mild stinging during the treatment. The intensity varies depending on the strength of the peel but is typically well tolerated. Your provider will monitor your skin throughout and can adjust as needed.
Is there downtime after a chemical peel?
Downtime depends on the type of peel used. Lighter peels may have little to no visible peeling, with mild redness that resolves quickly. You can typically return to normal activity the same day. Deeper corrective peels can involve several days of peeling, sensitivity, and redness as the skin renews. Your provider will guide you based on the level of treatment selected and what to expect during recovery.
When will I see results?
You may notice brighter, smoother skin within a few days as your skin completes its initial renewal. Improvements in tone and texture continue to build over the following weeks. With a series of treatments, results become more consistent and progressive over time.
Can chemical peels be combined with other treatments?
Yes. Chemical peels are often part of a broader treatment plan. They pair well with RF Microneedling, XERF Skin Tightening, and advanced hydradermabrasion facials to address different layers of the skin and support more comprehensive results. Your provider will recommend the right combination and sequencing based on your goals.
